The final field and barrier draw has been released for the $225,000 Geelong Cup which will run at 3.20pm (AEDT) at Geelong Racecourse tomorrow October 19, 2011.

13 horses have accepted for the Geelong Cup, which has a horse racing field limit of 17 runners.

The winner of the 2,400 metre Geelong Cup will be granted automatic entry into the 2011 Melbourne Cup at Flemington on November 1, 2011.

Included in the 2011 Geelong Cup final field is Luca Cumani’s Bauer, who is currently 63rd on the order of entry for the $6.2 million Melbourne Cup.

“We are praying that luck is with us and we can get that win,” travelling stable foreman Charlie Henson said.

“At the end of the day he has got two little minefields waiting for him to get into the Melbourne Cup.

“He has got the ballot to pass and he has also got to win it (Geelong Cup) to get his weight high enough.

“We have got to finish in the first three at the very least.”

Also included in the 2011 Geelong Cup final field and barrier draw are Dunaden, Tanby, I’m Jake, Back In Black and Rebel Soldier.
